  • arthritis
  • Neuromas as Mortons neuromas ( thickening of nerve tissue, often occurring between the third and fourth toes)
  • Fibromas (noncancerous lumps that form in different body tissues, like skin or tendons)
  • Ganglions ( see above)
  • joint effusions (fluid in joints)
  • tears in the tendons or ligaments
  • Tendinopathy (damage or irritation to a tendon, the tissue that connects muscles to bones) and Tendonitis
  • Degeneration of joint muscles, ligaments bones or cartilages
  • Bursitis ( inflammation of small, fluid-filled sacs called bursae, which cushion and reduce friction between bones, tendons, and muscles.)
  • Heel spurs ( bony outgrowths that can develop on the underside of the heel bone)
  • Tarsal tunnel syndrome (tibial nerve is compressed as it passes through the tarsal tunnel, a narrow space inside the ankle.)
  • Ankle injuries involving ligaments or tendons
Our skilled sonographers will perform your diagnostic ultrasound , and you will receive a copy. However, your general practitioner will need to examine these results and may schedule additional tests based on our findings. Please share the scan report with your doctor for further assessment.

Non-invasive MSK scan on foot or ankle

Almost everyone who undergoes an ultrasound scan reports no pain because the procedure is non-invasive. Our skilled sonographers use technology that converts soundwave echoes into finely detailed photographs of soft tissues.

The cold gel that is given to your skin to enable the ultrasound equipment to glide over it will probably cause you the most discomfort.

What is the duration of a private foot or ankle scan?

This is typically  completed within 20 minutes.

For whom is a foot or ankle musculoskeletal scan appropriate?

Anyone over the age of eighteen can access our scans. For this, you can make an online booking without requiring a referral from your doctor. It is advised that you inform your general practitioner (GP) of your plan to do a private ultrasound scan so they are ready to review the results at a later time.
