What can be identified by an ultrasound scan of the Well being?
“Well-being” is a broad term that encompasses various aspects of health and wellness. An ultrasound scan for well-being is not a specific medical procedure but could refer to different types of ultrasound examinations based on individual health needs. Some potential areas that might be assessed in a well-being ultrasound scan include:
- Abdominal Organs:Assessing the liver, kidneys, spleen, and other abdominal organs for any abnormalities.
- Thyroid Gland:Evaluating the thyroid gland for nodules or changes in size.
- Pelvic Organs:Examining reproductive organs or the prostate for signs of abnormalities.
- Vascular Health:Assessing blood flow in major vessels for potential issues.
- Soft Tissues:Identifying abnormalities or masses in muscles or soft tissues.
Your referring NHS GP, private consultant or private GP, or organisation needs to clarify the specific area of your well being scan. The results of your scan can provide valuable information for your overall health and early detection of potential health concerns. Most of our scans are noninvasive and well tolerated.
Invasive-free Well being Ultrasound
Non-invasive Prostate Ultrasound is a painless imaging procedure that uses sound waves to create detailed images of the prostate gland without the need for any invasive measures. This approach allows for a comprehensive examination of the prostate’s size, shape, and internal structures, aiding in the detection of nodules, tumors, or other abnormalities. Invasive-free Prostate Ultrasound is commonly employed for diagnostic purposes, providing valuable information without the discomfort or risks associated with invasive procedures. It is particularly useful for assessing prostate health, guiding further evaluation or biopsy if necessary, and contributing to proactive management of prostate conditions.

In Case You Still Have Questions
Can I eat and drink before my scan?
Generally, there are no dietary restrictions before your ultrasound scan. You can eat and drink normally. However, please follow any specific instructions from your healthcare provider or imaging centre. If you have any specific concerns, please contact your healthcare team for personalised guidance.
Who will perform the ultrasound?
Trained ultrasound technologists or sonographers will perform your ultrasound scan. The sonographer will apply a gel on the skin over the area being examined and use a handheld device called a transducer to capture images of organs. These images are then interpreted by a radiologist, who is a medical doctor specialising in this area, or by your healthcare provider who requested the scan.
What do I need to wear for the scan?
Please wear loose fitting clothes that can be easily removed if required. If you are unprepared, we may request you to change into a robe.
What do I need to bring to my ultrasound?
In order to help our sonographers if a referral is needed, kindly bring your hospital documents and reports, if you have these.
Will you let me know if there are any anomalies?
Note that none of your NHS scans are replaced by our scans. Should a medical referral be necessary during your visit, we will address this with you and give you a comprehensive report to take, for your physician or specialist.
If I have a scan with you, do I still need to go to the NHS?
Indeed, our services constitute an adjunct to the National Health Service (NHS).
What is the referral process like?
Prior to your scan, please kindly inform your GP or healthcare provider about your intention to undergo a well being scan with us. Upon arrival at Ultrasound Digital, you will be asked to complete a registration form, that will include your GP’s details. If your testicular and scrotal scan results suggest further communication or information sharing is necessary, it is your responsibility to provide the report to your general practitioner.
