Non-invasive hip or upper leg ultrasound

An MSK scan is a non-invasive technique, so any pain or discomfort experienced during the process shouldn’t be cause for concern. Sound waves are used to create a detailed image of soft tissue.

You won’t feel anything other than gel being put to the injured region.

How long does a upper leg or hip scan take?

Usually, an MSK scan on the hip or upper leg will take no longer than 20 minutes.

For whom is a hip MSK scan appropriate?

You are eligible if you are over the age of 18. It is usually recommended that you let your GP know that you want to attend a private ultrasound screening, even if a referral from your doctor is not required. Furthermore, it is usually advised that you let your general practitioner about the outcome.
