What can be detected by a leg or hip scan?
Our hip and upper leg MSK scans can detect a range of conditions including:
- Torn tendon/s
- Tears within hip muscles
- Damaged cartilage/s, joint capsule/s or ligament/s
- Arthritis
- Fracture/s
- Trapped nerve/s or damaged neurovascular structure/s

Our skilled sonographers will perform your diagnostic ultrasound , and you will receive a copy. However, your general practitioner will need to examine these results and may schedule additional tests based on our findings. Please share the scan report with your doctor for further assessment.

An MSK scan is a non-invasive technique, so any pain or discomfort experienced during the process shouldn’t be cause for concern. Sound waves are used to create a detailed image of soft tissue.

Who will perform the ultrasound?
Your scan will be done by our expert sonographers, who are accredited by the Health Professional Council, The General Medical Council, or Society of Radiographers. They also contribute to the NHS alongside their roles at Ultrasound Digital.
What do I need to wear for the scan?
We suggest dressing in loose comfortable clothing. If not, you might have to put on a robe.
What do I need to bring to my ultrasound?
Kindly bring copies of any prior scan results, blood test reports, or other pertinent documents if available.
Will you let me know if there are any anomalies?
Note that none of your NHS scans are replaced by our scans. Should a medical referral be necessary during your visit, we will address this with you and give you a comprehensive report to take to your GP.
If I have a scan with you, do I still need to go to the NHS?
Indeed, our services constitute an adjunct to the National Health Service (NHS).
What is the referral process like?
We recommend that every one of our clients let their doctor or other healthcare provider know that they plan to get scanned by us. When you arrive to Ultrasound Digital, we will ask you to fill out a registration form.
We will specifically ask for the details of your doctor or healthcare provider. Should the results of your scan indicate that you should get in touch with someone we advise you contact your GP or healthcare provider immediately.
